[Performance Introduction] Albert Camus' novel *The Plague* is a work of existentialist literature set in the city of Oran, which is suddenly isolated by an epidemic. It depicts a diverse array of human figures confronting the absurdity of death and fear. Centered around Dr. Rieux, the characters, rather than despairing or evading the situation, silently fulfill their duties in their respective positions, standing in solidarity and resisting. This symbolizes human dignity that refuses to succumb to the contradictions of life, going beyond a mere fight against disease. Although the plague eventually recedes, the play poses a profound question to the reader regarding how to live in an absurd world through the warning that disaster can return at any time. [Synopsis] The peaceful coastal city of Oran. One day, a dead rat appears in front of Dr. Rieux's clinic. Starting from this, thousands of rat carcasses pile up throughout the city, and eventually, Michel, the caretaker responsible for cleaning up the rats, dies of a mysterious illness. Amidst the uncontrollable spread of the shadow of death, the city authorities finally declare a lockdown. Oran has become an isolated island, completely cut off from the outside world. People respond to the disaster in different ways. Some seek profit by exploiting the misfortunes of others, others dream of escaping in search of love, and still others prostrate themselves before God, yearning for salvation. Amidst this chaos, Tarrou, an ordinary citizen, organizes a voluntary "Health Corps" with Rieux and begins to confront the invisible terror. After a seemingly endless struggle, the plague vanishes suddenly and without reason, just as it had arrived. The city reopens its doors and people cheer, but Rieux witnesses the death of his most cherished comrade and realizes that the absurd disaster can return at any moment. Through this record of tragedy, he asks: How must we live amidst this absurd existence?
