[Performance Introduction] We constantly face change as we live our lives. Change is sometimes frightening and confusing, but at the same time, it is an inevitable process for growth and survival. This work begins with plants that bloom to survive even in extreme environments. That method of survival—enduring a harsh reality and ultimately proving oneself—resembles our current selves. Like plants leaving to find a place to take root, and like living organisms that change their bodies according to the environment, we have no choice but to exist in new forms amidst change. Ultimately, how will we exist in an unfamiliar environment? And how will we accept that change? ‘Bare Ground’ is a bodily answer to these questions. [Synopsis] An unfamiliar world reached after breaking through the darkness. Bodies thrown into this new space trace unstable trajectories, exploring the unfamiliar air and constantly readjusting their relationships with their surroundings. In movements that gather and scatter toward one another, losing balance and then rebuilding it, the body undergoes ceaseless transformation. The bodies of those who were carving their presence into the ground with their whole beings to take root in an unfamiliar environment are gradually moving toward a new flow different from before.
