Synopsis
[Synopsis] - 《Dream Space》 is a non-verbal puppet show that transforms everyday spaces into a fantastical world. The narrative unfolds without dialogue, relying instead on puppets, fabric, light, music, and gestures; the audience perceives the flow of the story not through ‘understanding,’ but through ‘sensory’ and ‘experience.’ The work consists of three episodes, each with distinct emotions and themes. EP1) The Legend _ The Legend of Munami Village A modern reinterpretation of a folktale based on ‘Munami,’ an old place name in Gangbuk. A fierce flood approaches the master and disciple protecting the village, and the inexperienced disciple faces a moment of choice amidst fear. As the disciple stops the water in his own way and protects the village, a narrative of growth and courage is completed. EP2) Castaway _ Two Men on a Deserted Island Drifting ashore on a deserted island, two men attempt to escape using a box of gold bars washed ashore by the waves as a makeshift boat. However, due to their greed and inability to discard the gold, the boat continues to sink. In the end, she gives up gold for survival, but reaches out for gold bars once again. EP3) Whale & Girl A girl left alone meets a giant whale swimming in the deep sea. The whale quietly offers its side to the girl, and she slowly opens her heart to become a butterfly and soar into the sky.
