Synopsis

[Performance Introduction] The 2nd Im Yong-nam Gobeop Presentation will be performed under the title "Ilgoseonghyang." "Ilgoseonghyang" signifies that the fragrance of sound shines even brighter on a single drum. While Pansori is widely known as a "one drum master and two master singers," this performance aims to express a distinct fragrance where the drum takes center stage rather than merely serving as an accompaniment. Therefore, unlike existing presentations of various Pansori and Gobeop, this will be a world premiere concert showcasing a diversity previously unseen in Pansori. It features diverse accompaniments tailored to the narrative while introducing percussion instruments for each specific passage. The purpose of this performance is to create a stage that highlights the beauty of Korean traditional music, alongside the distinctive performances that can be experienced at the National Gugak Center.
