[Performance Introduction] <Sayuji> is a play reading project by the creative collective Saeal. Sayuji (私有地) refers to land owned by an individual. It evokes images of places that are not easily entered, or locations marked by boundaries and distinctions. We wish to view this name with a slightly different meaning. <Sayuji> embodies the meanings of 'Sa (思),' 'Yu (惟),' and 'Ji (地).' 'Sa (思)' represents the questions lingering beside us right now; 'Yu (惟)' signifies a mind that does not easily pass by but gazes at and contemplates for a long time; and 'Ji (地)' signifies a place, but also a space where the questions, sensations, and unyielding hearts that constitute who we are today reside and meet. This project begins with the place where each of us currently stands and the concerns we are holding onto. We aim to create a time for our thoughts to briefly intersect by reading different plays together, sharing our individual questions and sensibilities. In this edition of *Sayuji* (Land of Contemplation), we will read Lee Ho-chul's *The Naked*, Juan Mayorga's *Darwin's Tortoise*, and Shakespeare's *The Tempest*.
