[PROGRAM] Francis Poulenc (1899-1963) La voix humaine (The Human Voice), FP 171 We humans need human voices, smells, sounds, and warmth. Having passed through the pandemic, a time when we felt disconnection more acutely than ever, we are now living in a different kind of isolation. It is an era where we are more connected beyond screens, yet unable to reach the warmth of others. Within this context, we bring back *La Voix Humaine* (The Human Voice), a one-man opera composed by the French composer Poulenc. This opera delicately portrays the psychology of anxiety, obsession, and delusion experienced by a woman making her final phone call to a lover who has left her. Convinced that this woman's story is the story of all of us today, we wish to share this work with the audience. - Excerpt from Director Jo Eun-bi's Notes * A wine party with the musicians will be held after the performance.
