[Performance Introduction] MODAFE (International Contemporary Dance Festival), which has led the trends of contemporary dance in Korea, has opened new horizons for contemporary dance art for over 40 years. Moving beyond a mere arts festival, MODAFE has established itself as an authoritative dance festival that shares artworks from around the world and provides creative opportunities to artists, earning deep trust from artists both at home and abroad. To date, over 200 international groups and 440 domestic groups have participated through MODAFE, and more than 1,300 works have been staged. The international network and artistic solidarity built through the festival have grown MODAFE into a global platform that attracts the attention of choreographers and dance companies worldwide. Evolving annually with newer and more inclusive formats, MODAFE aims to share artistic experiences that transcend the boundaries of time and dreams, as well as a venue for international exchange, under the theme "MODAFE Beyond Time, Beyond Dreams" for its 45th edition in 2026. MODAFE aims to foster continuous growth as a global festival and promote the diverse artistic values and significance of contemporary dance, serving as a platform where artists from various countries share their creative worlds and expand the scope of artistic communication across boundaries. Work Introduction Yotam Peled & the Free Radicals <migrena2x2> Choreographer Introduction Yotam Peled (born 1989, Israel) is a choreographer and performer who grew up rooted in art, sports, and Capoeira, later expanding his scope into dance and contemporary circus. Based in Berlin since 2015, he collaborates with various European choreographers while developing his own creative works, which he presents on major stages in Europe and Asia. His solo work <Boys Don’t Cry> garnered attention by winning awards at several international festivals, and he has expanded his artistic scope through works such as Entropia (2018) and ALPHA (2019). In particular, ALPHA was created under the mentorship of Hofesh Shechter at TalentLAB#19 of the Grand Theatre of Luxembourg. While continuing various international residencies and commissioned works, the artist is actively working as an educator and collaborator at major European art institutions. Artwork Description <migrena2x2> is a complex solo performance unfolding within a confined space composed of fragments of memory, introducing tension and the use of objects. This work reinterprets the biblical story of Jonah from an abstract and modern perspective, addressing the concept of prophecy by exploring the unconscious and confronting trauma and fantasy. The burden carried by the performer is embodied through kettlebells, and the process of shedding this burden is revealed through a ritual unfolding at the boundary between prayer and rave. As the patterns of rough movement intensify, the body is gradually dismantled, decomposed, melts, and surrenders, thereby awakening all limbs and organs that swallow abstract matter—namely, space. This liberates hidden spaces and surfaces, leads to catharsis, and ultimately, this process achieves self-awareness. Interpreting issues of contemporary life through C.SENSE's unique perspective, and true to its meaning of 'Crude + Sense,' the group continues to produce diverse works that transcend genre boundaries, centering on unrefined, instinctive sensations and body language. From 2016 to 2018, she was a member of the Cie. Toula Limnaios Dance Company in Berlin, Germany. After returning to Korea, she participated in various works for the National Contemporary Dance Company, including *Sublimation*, *Unprotected*, *Shut Up, Womb*, and *We Had No Choice But to Move*, while continuing to collaborate with choreographers both at home and abroad. Representative choreographic works include *Meteor*, *Trivial Perfection*, and *Paradise*. She is currently active as the representative and choreographer of the art group C.SENSE. Work Description *Trivial Perfection* applies the art technique of "mosaic" to bodily movement, depicting the process in which trivial gestures are generated and accumulated like fragments, expanding into collective movement. Starting from Michelangelo's contemplation that "trivial things make perfection," the work explores the moment when individual movements form a social structure through collision and cooperation, and the other "perfection" generated within it. Choreography: Lee Dae-ho Performers: Lee Dae-ho, Park Jung-hwi, Ryu Ji-soo, Lee Hak Composition & Musician: Kim Hyun-soo Duration: 25 mins HAMHEEWONTHEATER <Passengers> About the Company and Choreographer HAMHEEWONTHEATER is a contemporary dance company that presents sensory yet narrative stages by developing unique movement methods and directing techniques based on a working method that brings images to three dimensions. The company's works feature a coexistence of dynamism and delicacy, as well as humor and philosophical messages, creating an emotional connection that intuitively resonates with the audience. Choreographer Ham Hee-won conveys images and philosophical thoughts regarding the themes to the audience in an easy-to-understand manner, while the choreographer's unique sense of humor is embedded within the diverse composition of the piece. As a choreographer who naturally and sophisticatedly fuses popularity and artistry, Ham Hee-won presents a trendy stage that everyone can relate to and enjoy, rather than abstruse art. Artwork Description It reveals strange rifts hidden within familiar spaces of movement. Scenes scatter like small tragedies that go unnoticed. This work speaks of unexplained anxieties and invisible stories lurking even in the ordinary spaces we pass by. Choreography: Ham Hee-won Performers: Ham Hee-won, Choi Young-hyun, Choi Hyung-kyu, Kim Ah-won, Heo Je-na Duration: 25 minutes
