Work Introduction Dance Company AoV <Manyang> About the Company and Choreographer Dance Company Achievement of Victory (AoV) is a contemporary dance company founded in 2022. Based on sensations and events experienced in daily life, the company continues its artistic activities by making primal movements and sounds its primary creative elements. It seeks for creators and audiences to share sensations through the medium of dance and collaboratively complete a single stage. Choreographer Yeom Seung-hoon approaches his work by exploring the potential for spatial expansion based on dynamic and direct movements. Starting from movements found in everyday life, he continues his work of creating movements through close communication with dancers and discovering the diverse possibilities inherent in the body. Work Description There are two people who are by each other to laugh together, and who feel comfortable even without words. Moments that feel simply wonderful, without any special event or reason, follow one another. This relationship does not attempt to prove anything, nor does it strive to get closer. It lies upon shared time and sensations, prior to any effort to understand each other. Choreography: Yeom Seung-hoon Performers: Yeom Seung-hoon, Kim Seok-hyun Composition: Jang Ji-ho Duration: 25 min Lee K-Dance <LaYeRs> About the Company and Choreographer Since its founding in 2002, Lee K-Dance has been a dance company presenting a new perspective through entertaining contemporary dance that captures the contemplation of contemporaneity. By incorporating the unique movements and diversity emanating from distinct bodies into their choreography, the company is acclaimed for capturing both artistic merit and popular appeal. By showcasing original repertoire on the world stage, they are widely promoting the potential of Korean contemporary dance. Lee Kyung-eun, who garnered attention as a "maverick of the dance world" immediately upon her debut in 1996, is a star choreographer recognized for her exceptional choreographic skills, having presented major works as the artistic director of Lee-K Dance. She has proven her originality and explosive stage presence by winning awards such as the First Choreography Award at the German Solo Tanztheater and the Grand Prize at the Seoul Arts Awards. Currently, based on a contemporary sensibility, she is widely promoting the artistry and popularity of Korean contemporary dance on the world stage. Work Description Lee Kyung-eun Solo <LaYeRs> This work focuses on the bodily presence that has traversed time. The repetitive and expansive structure of the music, which builds layer upon layer, intertwines with movement energy to intensely imprint the trajectory of time deposited in the body through contemporary dance. Delving into the layers accumulated in the body with the precision of looking through a microscope, the work explores what lies at the end of the layers if expressed solely through dance, just as the layers endlessly pile up. Choreography & Performance: Lee Kyung-eun Costume: Bae Kyung-sul Composition: Maurice Ravel Duration: 25 min Nonlybody <Towards Equilibrium> About the Company and Choreographers Based on the concept of dance as an endless journey originating from the body, this collective—comprising three artists—Kuo Chue-kai, Xu Lien, and Chen Yu-chi—was formed through extensive international tours and collaborations spanning Europe, the Americas, and Asia. Drawing on long-standing performance experience and in-depth research into movement, they translate global practices into the local context of Taiwan, bridging international standards with local perspectives. Through a hybrid movement language that combines contemporary dance with circus, acrobatics, floorwork, and martial arts, they redefine corporeality while reflecting on the changing paths of artists and their relationship with the audience in today's world. Work Description I often assume that I can find balance between myself and others, that I can find balance in perspective. However, in reality, that balance exists only within the ideal space I imagine. What unfolds between the two is a ceaseless movement of approaching, withdrawing, and reacting, with each action creating another small change. Navigating a world that is never still, we set out to find the fleeting moments where the two can coexist. I use a long stick to make these changes more visible and inescapable. The stick amplifies shifts in distance and timing, clearly revealing the delicate use of the body as the performers seek a way to remain together even amidst a state of imbalance. Choreography: Chueh-Kai KUO Performers: Yu-Chi CHEN, Li-En HSU Duration: 20 min
