[Performance Introduction] Presented for the Korean Premiere by Eum Opera Company and Soop Opera Ensemble, [Cinderella], a Korean adaptation of the fairy tale opera series The magical fairy tale story of Cinderella, which frequently appears in ballets, musicals, and films Reborn through a new Korean adaptation of the opera *Cendrillon* by French female composer Pauline Viardot, which exudes a unique charm by harmonizing French humor with the Italian Bel Canto style Cinderella, who lives with her stepfather and two stepsisters, takes on all the arduous housework and endures all kinds of abuse, but the kind-hearted Cinderella silently endures it all. One day, the prince holds a ball to find a bride and invites all the young women; while the stepfather and two stepsisters dress up lavishly and go to the ball, Cinderella is unable to attend due to the housework her stepsisters have forced upon her. While she was in despair and sorrow, a fairy godmother appeared and used magic to prepare a carriage and clothes for her to attend the ball, but warned her that she would be forced to return to her original form at midnight and urged her to come back. However, she vanished, leaving behind the words that the glass slipper she had given her as a final gift would remain forever. Meanwhile, before the ball began, the Prince promised his friend, Count Barigoul, that they would swap clothes and roles in order to find his true love. Barigoul, now the Prince for the day, enjoyed the ball more excitedly than anyone else. While everyone was happily enjoying the ball, Cinderella suddenly appeared; neither her sisters nor anyone else recognized her, but the Prince recognized her at first sight. The Prince confessed his hidden feelings to the kind Cinderella, who had shown him kindness even while he was disguised as a beggar. Cinderella shyly prepared to accept his feelings, but as the promised midnight arrived, she hurriedly returned home and ended up losing one of her shoes. Upon seeing the shoe she left behind, the prince announces that he will find a young woman whose foot fits it and take her as his wife, and he goes from house to house searching... Will Cinderella be able to find her lost shoe and win the love of the prince?
