[Performance Introduction] The <Mirten’s Salon> series sheds light on the composers who led the history of salon music and their songs. In this concert, we recreate the salon of Gioachino Rossini, an Italian composer who led the music world of the early 19th century while laying the foundation for Romantic opera. Rossini, a superstar of the opera world at the time, suddenly announced his retirement at the age of 37, leaving behind about 30 opera works. Afterward, he spent the rest of his life leaving behind a very small amount of religious works and short pieces. Amidst this, the Saturday salon he held in Paris gained immense popularity. We intend to take a time travel journey into his salon, accompanied by the songs of Rossini, his friends, and his juniors, as he spent the rest of his life surrounded by cooking, music, and friends.
