[Introduction] Premiered in the 2024 National Theater of Korea [Creative Empathy: Writer] series, *Silver Tongue* is a work that explores the "care" that exists throughout society, as well as the loose solidarity that connects and sustains one another. *Silver Tongue* depicts the process by which Jeong-eun and Eun-su, who have never met or connected with each other before, slowly open their hearts to one another and lean on one another after they meet at a funeral. Amidst a social reality where care and caregiving labor are easily disparaged as something taken for granted, and where the weight of care is generally placed on women, the story of the "silver tongue" inherited through the maternal line, along with the relationship between two women who appropriately fill the voids of each other's wounds and sorrows, warmly captures the solidarity and camaraderie of women connected through "words" and "stories." Transcending the blood ties of family, this relationship—where one inconveniences the other while looking out for them—makes us reflect on the meaning of neighbors and community. [Synopsis] Eun-su visits the same funeral home to pay her respects whenever the seasons change. Jeong-eun, the nosy funeral service assistant whom Eun-su encounters every time she goes. Jeong-eun is the funeral service assistant who came when Eun-su held her son's funeral. Eun-su tries to avoid her, but Jeong-eun approaches her before she knows it. She strikes up a conversation, offers her food, hands her a drink, and sits across from her. One day, Jeong-eun starts rambling on about absurd stories, claiming that she possesses a sparkling "silver tongue."
