Lim Hyung-joo, etc.
[Concert Introduction] This is the first paid solo recital in Seoul in three years by the "original popera star" Lim Hyung-joo (40, Chair Professor of Vocal Music at the City University of Arts in Rome), following the grand "25th Anniversary Recital <King Of Popera>" held at the Grand Theater of the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts in Seoul last September 2023! Lim Hyung-joo, a true legend of popera produced by Korea—whose achievements include being the first Korean to receive the UN Peace Medal, conquering the three major halls of Carnegie Hall in the U.S. with solo performances, signing distribution contracts for his solo album with the world's four major record labels, winning awards from Japan's NHK 'Kohaku Uta Gassen' and both the Obama and Trump Presidential Awards, serving as a voter and judge for the U.S. Grammy Awards, having a private audience and performance with Pope Francis, being a Lifetime Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and receiving the FRSA title from the British Royal Family, receiving the Presidential Commendation of the Republic of Korea, and being the youngest recipient of the Order of Merit for Korean People, the Camellia Medal—will hold a New Spring Solo Concert titled 'Popera Sensation (The Emotion of Popera)!' at the Youngsan Art Hall in Yeouido, Seoul, on March 20 at 7:30 PM. At this performance, Lim Hyung-joo is set to present the audience with the "essence of popera"—elegant yet splendid, lyrical yet grand—accompanied by the fantastic accompaniment of the Korean National Philharmonic Ensemble, where he has served as music director for a long time. The program will feature classical, pop, musical, and Korean ballads, as well as special 70s and 80s dance tracks. It is certain that the public will pay close attention to his approachable side, having shed his mysterious image through recent appearances on EBS's *Seo Jang-hoon's Millionaire Neighbor*, KBS's *The Signature: 100 People's Emotion Show*, Channel A's *Table for Four*, and TV Chosun's *Dad and Me*, alongside his beautiful and heartwarming songs that have become even more intimate.
