Synopsis

[Introduction] A heartwarming true story about a grandfather who sets out to find his old love, separated by war, and his grandson who dreamed of writing a melodrama. Emotion fills the space without flashy stage techniques—this is the power of a 'real' story! The play *Me and My Grandfather* is based on the true story of Min Jun-ho, the representative and director of the theater company *Gongyeonbaedal Service Ganda*. This play, which is completed by 'Jun-hee,' a playwright who wanted to write a magnificent melodrama, as she observes her maternal grandfather, portrays the simple and sincere landscapes of our lives without artificial direction. It reminds us of the fact that "those we call Grandma and Grandpa were once young men who experienced passionate love," offering deep empathy and warm comfort that spans all generations. [Synopsis] 'Jun-hee,' a playwright full of youthful vigor who wants to write a melodrama, discovers true 'life' as he sets out to find his grandfather's old love. Jun-hee is an energetic playwright who dreams of writing a wonderful melodrama. His teacher instructs him to observe and complete his maternal grandmother and grandfather. However, his grandmother suddenly collapses before he can even begin writing. Eventually, Jun-hee begins observing only his grandfather, recording his voice and listening to stories of his past. He eventually sets out to find even his grandfather's acquaintance, whom his grandmother had warned him "absolutely do not help with the search" before she collapsed. As he listens to his grandfather's story, he gets the feeling that the person might be a woman! Could she be his grandfather's first love? Driven by the hope that a melodrama might be completed, Jun-hee disobeys his grandmother's instructions and sets out to find Grandmother Im Su-im. Will the interesting path Jun-hee wants to write lie ahead on that road?
