Kian Soltani, Park Jae-hong
[Concert Introduction] Cellist Kian Soltani, who has garnered attention on the global stage for his "profound musicality and unrivaled presence," and pianist Jaehong Pak, who has rapidly expanded his standing through international competitions, present a duo recital. Soltani, a resident artist with the Iceland Symphony Orchestra, is a performer described by The Times as a "cellist to watch" and by Gramophone as "perfection itself." As a Deutsche Grammophon exclusive artist, he has collaborated with world-class orchestras such as the Berlin Staatskapelle, the Munich Philharmonic, and the NHK Symphony. Jaehong Pak gained international renown by winning the 2021 Ferruccio Busoni International Piano Competition along with four special awards, and has proven his musical prowess through victories at the Cleveland International Young Artists Piano Competition and the Gina Bachauer Competition. On this stage, through a program spanning Reza Vali, Schubert, and Rachmaninov, they naturally reveal their respective musical roots and interpretations. Soltani’s cello, combining deep lyricism with exquisite technique, and Park Jae-hong’s piano, possessing a broad timbre and solid structural sense, form a dense ensemble through close collaboration. Completed by the convergence of experience accumulated on the international stage and mature musicality, this duo recital promises to offer the depth of authentic chamber music that transcends mere ostentation.
