Kim Sun-wook, Alice Sarah Ott, etc.
[Concert Introduction] Sunwook Kim, who has maintained a special relationship with the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra as a soloist and made his debut as a conductor at the regular concert in December 2022, meets the orchestra once again. The concert opens with Modest Mussorgsky’s *Night on Bald Mountain*, which leaves a memorable atmosphere with its rough-textured melodies, followed by Maurice Ravel’s Piano Concerto in G Major. Alice Sara Ott, who made a name for herself as a child prodigy in Germany early on and has firmly established herself on the international stage with a popular trajectory, participates as the soloist for this concerto, which is radiant in every moment. Conductor Sunwook Kim, who curated the second half with works by Richard Strauss during the October 2023 concert with the Seoul Philharmonic, has prepared Johannes Brahms’ Symphony No. 2 for this performance. We look forward to the Brahms that musician Sunwook Kim will present with the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra, having been acclaimed as an outstanding Brahms interpreter throughout his career as a pianist and demonstrating a special affection for the composer even after beginning his career as a conductor.
