[PROGRAM] Mozart, Piano Concerto No. 21 in C Major, K. 467 Lee Hanurij, new work *world premiere, commissioned by the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra Scriabin, Symphony No. 4 in C Major, Op. 54, ‘Le Poème de l'extase’ * Program and performers are subject to change. Conductor Choi Soo-youl, who has consistently worked with the orchestra since first joining as associate conductor, returns to the stage for a regular concert for the first time in five years since his last performance in 2021. South African-born Australian pianist Christian Bejaydenhout will perform Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 21 as the soloist. Following a collaboration with a Mozart specialist who holds an outstanding presence in the field of fortepiano performance, Conductor Choi Soo-youl and the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra leap across time toward the 20th and 21st centuries. The work to be performed alongside the new piece commissioned by the Seoul Philharmonic from the young composer Lee Ha-neuri, born in 2006, is Scriabin’s Symphony No. 4, “Poem of Ecstasy.” In this work, which is closer to a symphonic poem than a symphony, the composer brilliantly expresses a heart yearning for change through mystical symphonic sounds.
